JUNE 9, 2018
Costumed Tea with the Royal Scottish Country Dance, 12 - 3 p.m.
The Costumed Tea is in conjunction with Market Square Day with tours of the downstairs and games in the garden including croquet, lawn bowling, cards and draughts. Dressing up is encouraged but not necessary.
The year 2018 marks the 300th anniversary of the marriage of Scots-Irish Capt. Archibald Macpheadris to Sarah Wentworth, daughter of well-connected Portsmouth merchant John Wentworth (later the Lieutenant Governor of the province of New Hampshire). The Royal Scottish Country Dance will lead simple country dances that may have been similar to the dances during Archibald and Sarah's 1718-housewarming party in the brick mansion on Daniel Street now known as the Warner House.
This event is co-sponsored by Silk Damask.
Free event but donations are welcome.
